Teak
One of the most expensive woods in the market, teak holds high value for its elegance and durability and also possesses natural properties as compared to other kinds. Grown in tropical areas, the use of teak wood dates back to 7th century, when it was a thing only for the rich and powerful. Found mostly in South Asian countries, this wood has weather-resistant properties because of its oil-retention quality. The oils present in the teak wood also protects it from fungi and parasites.
Hardwoods
Hardwoods are used for their density, hence applied in furniture, flooring, utensil, and construction works. They include ash timber, beech, oak, balsa, teak, and mahogany. They are also less likely to decay as compared to softwoods.
Pine Wood
Pinewood is a widely-used commodity in expensive carpentry as it has a straight, fine and evenly-grained pattern, which gives it a posh look. Pine trees are commonly found in the Northern Hemisphere. However, due to increase in demand, they are now grown in sub-tropical regions of the world too.
